Um dia, ao abrir a porta, Michel (Jean-Claude Brisseau) se depara com Dora (Virginie Legeay) jogada na porta de sua casa ensanguentada. Michel é um professor de matemática aposentado, que mora sozinho após a morte de sua esposa, e que dedica seu tempo livre a escrever um ensaio sobre as crenças fascinantes do dia a dia. Dora é uma mulher misteriosa sem moradia fixa. Michel cuida dela até que ela se recupere e eles acabam ficando amigos. No entanto, eventos estranhos começam a acontecer na casa de Michel.
