Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots
Year 2014. After the events narrated in Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, the world is now run by a huge computer system called Sons of the Patriots. All the soldiers in the world have nanomachines in their bodies that manage their emotions, their gestures and provide them with the appropriate training and information. Most of them are also enrolled not in regular armies but in private deployments, called PMCs (Private Military Companies). Solid Snake, aged rapidly, is in the Middle East on behalf of retired Colonel Roy Campbell, officially as a UN inspector for the control of the situation.
