Após ser "convidada a se retirar" de sua colônia de férias e como os pais em Malibu uma garota de 12 anos, Sara Newton (Daveigh Chase), vai até Quicksilver, uma pequena cidade, para ficar com Freddy Kablinski (Dave Thomas), seu tio.
