Quando cientistas chegam a uma distante ilha do Oceano Pacífico para conhecer as pesquisas do Dr. King, não imaginam os perigos a que serão expostos. Os estudos do Dr. King envolvem células tronco que podem possibilitar a cura de diversas doenças. Amélia, uma das cientistas recrutadas para acompanhar as pesquisas, era namorada do filho do Dr. King que morreu há pouco tempo de câncer. Logo eles descobrem a obsessão de King pelos tubarões e pela possibilidade de cruzamento com a espécie humana. Esta descoberta faz com que eles se tornem prisioneiros e alvo do cientista. Na tentativa de fugir da ilha e buscar ajuda, eles se deparam com uma terrível descoberta que poderá selar o destino de todos.
