Sinopse: Wolf Larsen, conhecido como Lobo do Mar, comanda seu navio, o Ghost, com mão de ferro, disputando a valiosa caça de focas com outro barco, o Macedônia, onde vive seu irmão Death (Tim Roth). Um dia, Wolf recolhe do mar o jovem crítico literário Humphrey Van Weyden e o força a trabalhar como marinheiro. Quando Maud, filha do dono do Macedônia, foge de uma armadilha mortal e também se abriga no navio, a rivalidade entre o Lobo do Mar e o jovem Humphrey se torna um jogo perverso, ambos lutando não só pelo poder, mas também pelo amor da jovem recém-chegada.
