Sinopse: Jim Lassiter vagueia de cidade em cidade em busca do homem que levou sua irmã ao suicídio. Enquanto cavalgava em direção a uma passagem na montanha, ele vê uma herdeira, Jane Withersteen, sendo assediada por bandidos e intervém para ajudar. Uma seita religiosa quer que Jane se case com seu líder, o diácono Tull, para que possam obter a propriedade de suas terras. Quando ele intervém para ajudar, Lassister lentamente começa a acreditar que um membro desta seita é o homem que ele procura.
