A esposa e o filho de Abe Dale (Nathan Fillion) são brutalmente assassinados diante de seus olhos, sem que ele possa fazer algo para impedir. Sem conseguir lidar com a falha, Abe não vê outra saída senão se suicidar. Ele é levado a um hospital e morre na sala de emergência.
