Em um híbrido entre o que é real e o que não é, o filme ficcional tem o objetivo de expor dores, medos, felicidades, e principalmente o amor durante o processo de preparação de um ator durante a produção teatral de um monólogo. O filme se mistura com textos e falas de artistas variados, focando principalmente no ofício do ator. "Rota" busca discutir sobre esse ofício. É uma obra sobre o teatro e sobre a simples grandeza de nos fazer gigantes com ele. É sobre trilhar e se desafiar. Com isso, a narrativa busca descobrir o processo desse ator; expondo seus sentimentalismos, inseguranças e amores.
