É quando repentinamente surge Beth (Anne Heche), uma advogada que conversa com os dois e diz que há um acordo verbal que diz que se um deles voltar para cumprir a pena terá de ficar seis anos preso, se os dois voltarem três anos de prisão para cada um e se nenhum voltar Lewis será enforcado em oito dias.
