Sinopse: Em meados de 1870, Jacobina, filha de imigrantes alemães, se torna líder de uma seita que acredita na cura do corpo pela da limpeza da alma. Após ter uma visão divina e ter falado com Jesus, ela muda a sua aparência e seus modos, incomodando a população conservadora do local. Após a morte de opositores à sua seita, as autoridades locais decidem agir contra ela e seus seguidores.
