Guido Magnone - The Artist

Guido Magnone designs cardboard boxes by hand for his parents' small business. A painter friend loves his brushwork and pushes him to attend the Beaux Arts. He takes an external competition, wins it, befriends the sculptors César and Féraud, surrealists, a handful of bohemians. He then discovered the mountain and quickly became one of the best climbers of his generation. He made prestigious conquests such as the west face of the Drus in the Alps, the first ascents of Fitz Roy in Patagonia with Lionel Terray or Makalu in the Himalayas... Magnone also participated in the creation of the UCPA and will be president of the Groupe de Haute Montagne from 1961 to 1965. From 1977, Guido returned to his first passion: sculpture, to devote himself fully to it around 1990. He began to exhibit again in 1996. In 2002, he exhibited his sculptures in Paris , Bourg-la-Reine, Aosta then in Etroubles in 2009.

Meeting Point

Filmmakers Alfredo García and Paulina Costa were babies when both of their fathers were taken by the forces of Pinochet's dictatorship in Chile. Together their fathers were held in a small cell within Villa Grimaldi, one of the most notorious torture centres of that era. During their imprisonment, their fathers forged an unbreakable friendship, but only one of them, Paulina's father, survived to return to his family. Now, 45 years later, the filmmakers and their families reconstruct the last days before their fathers were taken and what lay in store for them while in captivity. With actors re-enacting these experiences on set, this film within a film unfolds and generations of the two families witness the past play out before their eyes. Filmed as Chile rises once more with a strong social movement against a repressive state, Meeting Point shows grandparents and parents passing down valuable lessons of freedom and equality.

A Riviera Não é Aqui

Philippe Abrams é diretor de uma agência dos correios em Salon-de-Provence no sul da França. Ele é casado com Julie, cuja natureza depressiva torna a vida dele impossível. Para agradá-la, Philippe monta uma fraude para obter uma transferência para a Côte d´Azur (a Riviera Francesa), mas é desmascarado e acaba sendo transferido para Bergues, uma pequena cidade no norte do país. Para os Abrams, sulistas cheios de preconceitos, o Norte é um horror, uma região gelada e povoada por pessoas que falam um dialeto incompreensível, o "cheutimi". Sem opção, Philippe embarca sozinho e descobre que Bergues não é tão ruim assim.

O Carteiro e o Poeta

Por razões políticas o poeta Pablo Neruda se exila em uma ilha na Itália. Lá, um desempregado quase analfabeto é contratado como "carteiro" extra, encarregado de cuidar da correspondência do poeta. Gradativamente se forma uma sólida amizade entre os dois. O carteiro Mario, aos poucos, aprende a escrever seus sentimentos por Beatrice, e Neruda ganha, em troca, um ouvinte compreensivo para suas lembranças saudosas do Chile.

Ricky e a sua família lutam arduamente contra as dívidas desde o colapso financeiro de 2008. É um trabalho duro, mas o emprego da mulher como cuidadora não é mais fácil. A família é forte, mas quando ambos são empurrados em sentidos diferentes, o ponto de ruptura torna-se iminente.
