Sinopse: Quando o professor da escola primária de uma pequena aldeia rural em Shuiquan tem que se afastar do trabalho por um mês, a única pessoa que pode substituí-lo é Wei (Wei Minzhi), uma tímida jovem de 13 anos sem experiência alguma na arte de lecionar. Ela recebe a restrita ordem de que deve manter todos os alunos na escola e não deixar nenhum partir. Teimosa, ela fará de tudo para cumprir o plano, algo prova ser mais difícil do que parece quando o pequeno Zhang (Zhang Huike) é obrigado a deixar a aldeia e ir para cidade a fim de arrumar um trabalho. Contando com o apoio de seus alunos, a determinada professora vai a pé atras de seu aluno perdido e não vai desistir até trazê-lo de volta.
