Levado para o hospital, Ronny foge para acertar contas com Maria. Ao chegar ao cabaré, ele a humilha e a leva para o quarto. Ely, uma madame da alta sociedade entediada com a vida, visita um cabaré com duas amigas, Sara e Conceição, e presencia a cena com Maria e Ronny. Acaba apaixonada por ele e resolve sustentá-lo. Chico Diabo, pai da filha de Maria, é o bandido mais temido da região e ao ser perseguido pela polícia, ameaça atear fogo nos tanques de gasolina da cidade, preocupando a população.
