Wassup Rockers é um filme sobre um grupo de adolescentes latinos do bairro de South Central, em Los Angeles que, em vez de se conformarem com a cultura hip-hop do seu bairro, infestado de bandos, usam calças justas, ouvem música punk e andam de skateboard. Evitar a violência do ambiente perigoso em que vivem é um desafio diário. Os Rockers decidem apanhar o autocarro para andar de skate no mundialmente famoso "Nine Stairs", no Liceu de Beverly Hills. Aí conhecem algumas raparigas das redondezas, atraídas pelos "punks" do gueto, mas o da começa rapidamente a dar para o torto, vendo-se perseguidos pelos meninos ricos do bairro chique e vigiados de perto pela Polícia de Beverly Hills. Fugindo dos polícias, os Rockers vêem-se perdidos no meio de Beverly Hills.
