Sinopse: A história verídica do Santo polonês Maximiliano Kolbe e os incríveis desafios que enfrentou durante a invasão nazista da Polónia na Segunda Guerra Mundial. Kolbe foi castigado por ter prestado ajuda e proteção aos judeus enviados para Auschwitz, um campo de concentração nazista. Num sacrifício final, ofereceu-se para trocar de lugar com um desconhecido que estava desolado por sua mulher e filhos. Ao tomar o lugar do estranho, Kolbe sacrifica a sua vida.
