Sinopse: São Petersburgo, 1860. Um membro da família imperial é assassinado. Poucos dias depois, o escritor Dostoievski Fiodor Michajlovic reúne-se com Gusiev, um jovem internado em um hospital psiquiátrico. Gusiev confessa que tomou parte na conspiração terrorista e revela que seus colegas estão planejando matar outro de parentes do czar. O jovem também dá a Dostoiévski o endereço de Alexandra, sua líder. O escritor deve encontrá-la e convencê-la a cancelar a tentativa de assassinato.
