Kenshin se mete em uma briga de marinheiros para ajudar uma garota e conhece Shigure Takimi, e aqui tem início sua nova aventura. Shigure acaba confrontando-se com Kenshin, e torna-se juiz, júri e executor, logo que vê o mesmo golpe que matou Gentatsu surgindo das mãos de Kenshin. Numa seqüência final de lutas surge todo um sentimento de arrependimento e carinho, que faz com que ambos perdoem-se, mas outros planos estão esperando os dois novos companheiros.
