King of Prison

Man-hee, imprisoned for being caught up in an accidental violent case, will be admitted to a violent room where the king of prison can be found. On the other hand, with Tae-soo, the opposition leader being admitted to the same prison, a group of people who are unhappy with the king gather one by one, and the gang members face a desperate crisis.

Life of a Mutt

Through seven scenes, the film follows the life and destinies of stray dogs from the margins of our society, leading us to reconsider our attitude towards them. Through the seven “wandering” characters that we follow at different ages, from birth to old age, we witness their dignified struggle for survival. At the cemetery, in an abandoned factory, in an asylum, in a landfill, in places full of sorrow, our heroes search for love and togetherness. By combining documentary material, animation and acting interpretation of the thoughts of our heroes, we get to know lives between disappointment and hope, quite similar to ours.

The ostensibly calm and courteous Gerald Ballantyne lives in and embodies modern suburbia. Zeki is a freerunner whose life is turned upside down when his father, the widower Mahir, decides to move from Rotterdam to Istanbul. While Mahir goes out to work, Zeki has to spend the summer holidays inside the posh gated community where they live. Escaping over the wall, Zeki befriends Kemal and other street kids, who are pickpockets. Trying to belong, he conceals how he lives in the gated community. As Kemal and Zeki get closer by the day, Kemal's best friend becomes jealous…

This documentary chronicles the director's quest to find the reclusive master and subsequent encounters with the man within a period of 12 months. It captures the life and art of the self-taught genius who single-handedly depicted the look and feel of what can be describe as the Golden Era of Hong Kong Cinema from 1975 to 1992. Western audiences might recognize some familiar faces from the prolific painter's recent works - undeniably breathtaking - such as the portraits of Marlon Brando, Michael Jackson, James Dean, John Lennon, Audrey Hepburn and Anne Hathaway.
