Sinopse: Yang Shi-Nan é um garoto de 14 anos que passa por uma metamorfose sem perceber o que está acontecendo. Começa em um dia normal de aula, quando ele sente cólicas estomacais. Depois de correr para o banheiro, ele percebe que sua urina está ficando vermelha como sangue. Levado a um médico, ele é diagnosticado com "Distúrbios do Desenvolvimento Sexual", ou intersexo. Sem consultá-lo, os pais de Shi-Nan decidem aceitar a "cirurgia de redesignação sexual", transformando Shi-Nan em uma mulher e mudando seu nome para YANG Shi-Lan. A família se muda para uma nova cidade para começar uma nova vida e tudo parece estar indo bem, enquanto Shi-Lan se adapta e até faz amigos. Parece que a borboleta está prestes a sair de sua crisálida, mas será que Yang Shi-Lan conseguirá realmente aceitar sua transformação?
