Sinopse: Camadas das águas invisíveis discute e questiona as origens de Teresina e de sua urbanização ao longo dos anos. O filme trata da mudança da capital do Piauí de Oeiras em 1852, os ideiais de modernidade da época e os problemas que resultaram desse processo nas pessoas e na cidade. Junto à ideia de progresso da ferrovia, das fábricas e dos barcos a vapor, muitas famílias e trabalhadores foram remanejadas das áreas centrais da cidade para partes mais distantes. Os modos de vida tradicionais destas pessoas conviveram, não livres de conflito, com a vontade de civilidade das elites locais. Com 4 entrevistados, entre arquitetos, historiadores e pesquisadores, o filme também traz um conjunto de imagens rico de diferentes locais da cidade, como o Centro, a beira do rio Parnaíba e o bairro Poty Velho.
