Sinopse: O ano é de 972, em Kyoto, capital do japão antigo. Kyoto está se tornando uma cidade corrupta e decadente. Samurais egoístas e onmyoji, que só querem saber de ganhar poder político estão em toda parte. E para piorar, a cidade sofre com a fome e propagação de doenças. Não podendo mais ignorar a condição da cidade, a Corte Imperial decide enviar Minamoto no Raiko, um famoso samurai conhecido pelas habilidades de arqueirismo, para recuperar uma lendária joia a qual dizem possuir um misterioso poder de salvar o mundo. Entretanto, Raiko também adoece. Então, sua irmã, Hikaru, decide secretamente realizar a jornada em seu lugar.

The Merchant of Qing Dynasty

In 1776, the 41st year of the reign of Qianlong (Ni Dahong), the court is in urgent need of money for war, and official Akezhan (Zhang Zhijian) is sent to Yangzhou to collect donations from wealthy salt merchants. Instead, Akezhan uncovers a massive case of corruption that shakes the very core of the nation.
