Sinopse: Kazuhiro Uchida é transferido para um centro de resgate localizado em uma pequena cidade após não ter passado nos testes para piloto de caça. Inicialmente, Kazuhiro pensa negativamente sobre a sua nova ocupação, devido as missões difíceis e a disciplina rígida que recebe dos seus superiores. No entanto, ao longo de seu treinamento, ele começa a aceitar o trabalho para qual foi designado e torna-se um verdadeiro membro da força de resgate. Uchida quis se tornar um piloto de caça, mas como se espera de uma posição de elite, simplesmente não há lugares suficientes para todos os oficiais da força aérea chegarem a este nível. Consequentemente, ele teve que conformar-se a posição mais baixa que sua expectativa inicial: um piloto de resgate.
