Sinopse: O corrupto e demagogo Odorico Paraguaçu é candidato a prefeito de Sucupira e se elege com o slogan “Vote em um homem sério e ganhe um cemitério”. O problema é que não morre ninguém para que a obra seja inaugurada. O prefeito resolve consentir a volta à cidade do matador Zeca Diabo, com a garantia de que ele não será preso. Há a esperança de que ele mate alguém e lhe arranje um defunto. O prefeito só não imaginava que Zeca Diabo volta a Sucupira disposto a nunca mais matar ninguém, pois quer virar um homem correto. Odorico tem como aliados as irmãs Cajazeiras, apaixonadas pelo coronel, e Dirceu Borboleta, seu fiel secretário pessoal.
