Sinopse: Baseado nos eventos ocorridos em torno da 'Rota 1', que fica entre Seul e Pyongyang. A história sobre o oficial Lee Jang Woo que se encontra em uma guerra para a qual não está preparado para proteger Soo Yeon, a mulher que ele conhece e ama desde a juventude. No entanto, ele é capaz de superar isso e demonstra extraordinárias habilidades de sobrevivência, amizade, cooperação e ideologia sob condições brutais de guerra. Soo Yeon aguarda o retorno de Jang Woo, mas acaba ficando noiva de Tae Ho. Quando Jang Woo retorna vivo, no entanto, Tae Ho descobre o vínculo inquebrável de Jang Woo e Soo Yeon e se sente traído.
