Video Hits was a Canadian music video program that was broadcast on CBC Television from 1984 to 1993, the longest running video series in Canada. Created by producer Sandra Faire, it featured music videos of current songs and interviews with artists. Samantha Taylor hosted the program from its inception, then Bryan Elliott hosted from 1989 to 1991, and Dan Gallagher hosted from 1991 to 1993. The show first aired October 1, 1984. Its time slot was weekdays at 4:30 p.m. In 1989, the show moved to 5:00 p.m.

Degrassi High
Degrassi High is the third television show in the Degrassi series of teen dramas about the lives of a group of teenagers living on or near De Grassi Street in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It first aired from 1989 to 1991 and followed the young people from The Kids of Degrassi Street and Degrassi Junior High through high school. The show was filmed in downtown Toronto and at Centennial College. Much like its predecessor, Degrassi High dealt with controversial issues ranging from AIDS, abortion, abuse, alcoholism, cheating, sex, death and suicide, dating, depression, bullying, gay rights, homophobia, racism, the environment, drugs, and eating disorders. The show's impact on Canadian identity is discussed in the September 2007 issue of u're Magazine.

Geralmente, uma é eliminada por episódio (casos esporádicos de eliminação dupla ou não eliminação ocorreram apenas uma vez cada na história do programa). A vencedora do desafio da semana sempre ganha algum prêmio interessante, como a visita da família, jóias, roupas, ou benefícios que as mantêm a frente das outras competidoras. Em um certo momento do programa, as garotas restantes fazem uma viagem internacional para conheceram a cultura fashion de outros locais, como França, Jamaica e Tailândia. A cada final de episódio, as garotas vão a "Judge Room" ou "sala de julgamentos" onde são analisadas por gurus da moda, que, juntamente com Tyra, decidem quem será eliminada. No episódio final, as garotas gravam um comercial para a CoverGirl, tiram uma foto promocional para a mesma e ainda desfilam em um super fashion show, que servirão de testes para os juízes anunciarem quem será a vencedora.
