Yuzou, consegue levá-la para a longínqua ilha, acompanhados na viagem pelo misterioso Takahara Makoto, que parece querer fugir de Tokyo e de seu passado. A chegada destes a Hatomi, dá início a conflitos e descobertas por parte da menina: amor, amizade, família, raízes, cultura e também por parte de toda a população, que terão toda suas vidas modificadas profundamente pela presença destes dois.
