Sinopse: O compositor Gilberto Gil acompanha o cineasta Andrucha Waddington até o Nordeste do Brasil. Entre as comunidades rurais da região, Gil e Waddignton participam da comemoração católica do dia de São João com música e dança. Waddington também analisa o sofrimento da população que tenta sobreviver por meio da agricultura em um terreno difícil.
